My name is Matthew Forbes, and I’m a journalist and creative. I have recently completed a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Media & Communications) at the University of Sydney.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve engaged with and maintained an avid interest in various different facets of the media landscape. My involvement in this field has included writing and editing content for various publications, producing multimedia content, co-hosting radio shows and promoting and maintaining the online brand of a student society.

My interest in journalism and media initially stemmed from a long-lasting passion for storytelling, which has manifested itself in various other ways, such as my love for theatre and film. In my later years of high school, however, what really attracted me to the field was the opportunity to critique and voice my opinions on art. I began writing album reviews in my spare time, and eventually started an Instagram page to post said reviews.

I have honed my skills extensively since then, and my confidence as a writer and producer of content grows daily. Doing this has also assisted me in other areas, such as my interest and involvement in comedic writing.

Thus far, I have been able to combine my various passions with my involvement in the world of media. This is something that I hope to sustain throughout my career in this field.
